On-Site Technical Assistance Program 104(g)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s On-site Technical Assistance Program was implemented in 1982 to provide technical, operation and maintenance assistance to small, municipal wastewater treatment plants through direct on-site operator training. Assistance is provided to plants in danger of non-compliance or out of compliance with their discharge permits. Enhancing plant operations helps to improve water quality.

The program is also known as the 104(g) Program, reason being, the program is authorized under section 104(g) of the Clean Water Act. Funding for the program is provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The 104(g) training center is located on the beautiful campus of UL Lafayette. The center is nationally recognized and is known as the Louisiana Environmental Training Center.

Contact LETC Coordinator Carl "Taz" Wininger by phone at (337) 482-5712 or by email at bits-letc@louisiana.edu to find out if your facility qualifies for assistance under this program. There is no cost to the community for Operator Outreach Assistance.
