TAE KWON DO FOR YOUTH


Tae Kwon Do is a martial art which emphasizes a variety of blocking and striking techniques as a means of self-defense, physical fitness, and self discipline. The Tae Kwon Do student will be introduced to fun, exciting, and challenging activities and topics that stress goal setting, discipline, self-control, physical fitness, and coordination. For beginner to intermediate students. No uniform is required. Ages 7 - 12.

COME PLAY WITH ME NEW

Calling all pre-schoolers! Bring your Mom, Dad or Grandparents for 4 pre-school workshops focusing on art, music, kinesthetics, and dramatic play based on wonderful children’s literature, such as: Where the Wild Things Are?, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, Baby Beluga, and more. With your parent, you will become characters in the stories, practice body movement and sing songs together, and create some amazing art projects. Parents- Grandparents/child bonding a must! YOUTH TUMBLING & GYMNASTICS

Basic tumbling skills such as forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, round offs and more will be taught. Basic skills that are important for movement on floor and apparatus will be covered such as mounts, dismounts, balance skills on balance beam, and proper “takeoff” angles on vault. For boys and girls.

These sessions will assist students with focusing on time-management schedules, effective study methods, test-taking strategies, note-taking skills, and organizational skills. These sessions will assist students with proven study strategies in the area of organization, time management, memory, note-taking and concentration skills. In the second meeting of this two-part workshop, students will cover the application of these techniques.

ACT WORKSHOP

This workshop will help students use minimal time to achieve maximum results on the ACT. The seminar will cover six basic areas: 1) Preparing for the ACT, 2) Approaching the test, 3) Format of the ACT, 4) Analysis of Sample Questions, 5) Importance of Student Profile and Interest Inventory, and 6) Questions commonly asked about the ACT. A general overview of the skills needed to be successful on the ACT and the impact of the results of the test will be covered. Information on registration, test dates, centers and times will also be made available. ACT packets will be distributed. This workshop is designed for those students who have not taken the ACT before.

INTENSIVE ACT PREPARATION COURSE

This course presents an in depth review of the ACT. The course helps students increase test comfort and acquaintance level and reduces test anxiety. We’ll cover the four main sections of the ACT-English, Math, Reading and Science Reasoning by practicing with three full length ACT tests. Tests given will be scored and analyzed to increase the student’s ability and testing confidence. Types of problems will be emphasized to encourage students to recognize and answer questions quickly and accurately. Strategy will be stressed to allow each student to reach his/her maximum score. Some memorization will be required. Some universities have decided to require/ recommend that their applicants submit scores from the ACT Writing Test. Optional sessions are offered for students who plan on attending a college or university that requires a writing score. To get maximum benefit, students should attend all 5 classes. Class size is limited.
